Researchers at the Korea Institute of Fusion Energy inspect the interior of the Korea Superconducting Tokamak Advanced Research (Kstar) project at the organization’s headquarters in Daejeon on Wednesday. Last year, Kstar, dubbed the artificial sun, set a record by operating at 100 million degrees Celsius (180 million degrees Fahrenheit) for more than 20 seconds. The institute plans to break more records in its research into fusion energy, such as managing the temperature for 30 seconds, this year. [NEWS 1]
