Researchers detect a compound in a plant that could fight cancer cells

Costa Rican scientists detected a compound in the Lippia alba plant, popularly known as juanilama, that could counteract cancer cells by weakening tumor cells while at the same time allowing healthy cells to continue multiplying. Experts in medicine, chemistry, pharmacy and natural products from the University of Costa Rica (UCR) found four essential oils in juanilama, one of which could be very effective against cancer.
